Black camry with a sticky hood

So when I started my new, awesomely amazing job at Apple it posed a little problem for our one-car family. How were we going to get me to the shuttle, Quinn-buggy to the sitter and Eric to school every morning? It was a serious problem that we tried to duck-tape together with a few borrowed rides and a lot of patience from our amazing Q-watcher.

We FINALLY gave in and did some on-line shopping for a vehicle. Something with low miles, that would get good gas mileage and not break the bank.

Hah!
Good luck Kel.

That’s what you’re thinking right? That’s what I was thinking. But low and behold AutoTrader, that beautiful hunk of a website, delivered exactly what we were looking for.

It was shiny, not too old, low miles, great ratings and right at the top of our budget. It was also 20 minutes down the street from the in-laws. So we dropped off the Q-man and went for a little test ride. And then the craziest thing happened.

We took it home with us.

Say what?!?
I know, it was crazy. They met our price and let us drive it home that day.
It was nuts. Insanity I tell ya!
But, it had to happen, and it’s been a real Jem so far. The Q-tip took to it right away and I must admit that I’m kinda loving it myself. I even like the shiny blackness of it. Isn’t it pretty.
It puuuurrrrs like a kitty.
Pretty kitty.

the cute baby wants to go for a ride

Well, the pretty kitty had a few sticky sap spots on the front and back hoods so the dealership told us to bring it back when the service department was open and they’d wash it up real good for us. The only problem was that those sticky spots turned out to be eaten paint spots rather than just icky sap.

Sadness.

We only had to put up a little fuss, since it is a certified pre-owned Toyota and all. And yesterday we took the pretty kitty in to be repainted. Wahoo! My pretty kitty will be super shiny and like-new in just a few days. The dealership even got us a rental car in the meantime. Isn’t that just so nice of them. Gotta love those great Toyota peeps.
