That’s a tough one.
I’d have to say April 25th.
Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.

January 25th.
I walked out of my crazy busy house and into my quiet and empty car. I picked up my sister and we headed off to girls weekend in Monterey. As we were leaving Monterey I called out ‘Hasta La Vista, Heaven’. And that’s how good the weekend was.
We spent time at the Spa, like a LOT of time. Soaking and lounging and massaging and lounging some more. With scented somethings somewhere in the vicinity and water sculptures putting off the vibe, if you know what I mean.
We spent a short bit walking around downtown and impersonating guests at a rather prestigious hotel simply to procure their fabulous, and free, chocolate chip cookies. I mean, these are THE chocolate chip cookies. Forget what you know about chocolate chip cookies because these take that recipe to the back alley and beat it to a bloody…well, you get the picture.
We were on the corner of somewhere and someplace and only slightly certain of which direction we were supposed to head in – only I knew exactly where I was going but the sis had doubts. – no really. i have an uncanny since of direction – and she was all like what street are we on and I was all who needs street names when you have landmarks which sparked a rather drawn out and random conversation with a very sweet lady who really just needed to chat. And who were we to stop her short of getting whatever she needed off her chest? So… we walked one block beyond where I would have turned and ended up taking the long way back which made the sis nervous, because she was a bit tired under the weather, and since I was the only one with my phone on my person I placated her and dropped a pin on our location. And you’ll never, ever, in a million years guess where we were….
yup, we were around the corner from the hotel.
And after all of that I confessed that in fact, that was the exact direction I was going to take us in, and she was all like. huh.
And there were no babies, and no crying, and no kids begging for attention and not of the little details that make my day to day life amazing. But instead there were the other little things. The stone walled alleyway getting the perfect hit of sunlight at that exact moment, the cute little garden that my stroller never would have fit through that was just past the coolest door I’ve quite possibly ever seen and just around the corner from the cool old guy’s photo shop. He can tell you what every single picture is and there were thousand of them… I felt like we had our own personal photo tour of the Bay Area.
Which then led us to the fancy hotel with the mind blowingly amazing chocolate chip cookies. I feel like this story is going in circles….
But. seriously. it was the perfect date.
xoxo
