TREND WATCH – INTERIORS / JANUARY 2014

Oh how lovely is the New Year!
I hope you will forgive me for taking such a looooong unannounced break. It was needed, and refreshingly amazing. I woke up on Wednesday morning, with the new year, a new woman. Setting goals and making lists has always been my thing, and jotting down a few goals for ourselves this year was a fun exercise for The Hubs and I. We were on the same page for just about everything!

I have this dream of one day owning a home furnishings store. Just a little something up on the Washington coast. I can see it so clearly in my mind… perhaps it will be my retirement dream. Perhaps it will be my 10 year dream, who knows. The one thing I do know is that someday, it will happen. It’s just one of those things, ya know.

In the mean time, I like to keep an eye on the latest Interior trends. Let’s take a peek at what this new year and new month has to offer.

athena1. Athena Calderon’s Roundup
Athena, from EyeSwoon, created a fab little latests trends round up over on Lonny.com.

vintageboxes2. Vintage Crates
Here’s a fun trick to try from the ladies over at Rue Mag, vintage crates as unconventional shelves. Love the greenery ladies!

glassknobs3. Glass Knob Towel Holders
Oh Martha, you always have the best ideas… like these glass knobs repurposed as towel holders. Simply lovely.

shutters4. Cottage Shutters Headboard
Unique headboards always draw my attention. These cottage shutters are just a prime example of what I would love to showcase in my dream shop.

Have a fabulous weekend!
And, tell me, what trends are you watching this year?

just love

  • Hey Kelly, Fun to see this year's posts. I hope the twinners are enjoying Nursery (and you are enjoying 2nd and 3rd hour too). We are putting together a new home. Not a lot of "decorating" -- mostly picture-hanging and re-assembly of what we already have in the tiny seconds between the off-and-running business life. I hope APPLE is going well -- we didn't get much visit time over the holidays, but we will be down there again throughout the year. You and Eric keep taking good care of each other and have a great life in the brave world of child-rearing adventures. Love, AK
