life around here lately / in pictures

I try to keep life as positive and upbeat as possible. It’s just so much more enjoyable that way. Plus, I want to instill in my littles the know-how to choose happy over the alternative. That certainly doesn’t’ mean that life is all sunshine and daisy’s.
We have our ups and downs and trials, just like everyone. After all, that’s part of Heavenly Father’s plan for us, to learn and grow and draw closer to Him through mortal trials. Simply because I choose not to dwell on them, doesn’t mean they aren’t happening to me and to my family each and every day.

We took a trip up to Washington state last weekend to visit my Dad, who was recently put on hospice care. It was a beautifully trying trip full of all the feels, all the frustrations and all the happiness you can image. There were moments when I felt fully wrapped in God’s arms and His love and literally woke up in heaven one morning with the clouds covering the valley so it looked like we were floating in the sky. And there were moments when I was physically and emotionally exhausted from the entire encounter. I count every single moment as a blessing, and I wouldn’t have change a single thing about our trip. These moments are trials are what shape and mold us into who we are today and who we will become tomorrow. They are necessary steps along the path back home to heaven. I know this, I love this and I live this each and every day – is my small testimony before I overload you with pictures galore.

Family time is simply the best. Especially when you can be goof balls together. 🙂

We even snuck in a little date time – to celebrate 10 years of marriage the super classy way. With pedicures, brunch and extra bonus brunch of donuts. <3
