FALLING FOR FRIDAY / 18

Oh you guys!
Have you noticed?
I hope you’ve noticed.
I’m a little giddy with excitement over it all.

The blog got a facelift! A really puuuurdy face lift!!!!!
(If you’re on a reader you’ll want to click over to view it!)
Thanks to Viva La Violette this space just met all of my layout dreams… and then some!
Heather has been such a dream boat about everything. She’s even suggested a better hosting service that’s just up and coming and has BIG possibilities for us WordPress peeps.
You should ask her all about it!

And now, I can finally lay to rest my mood boards lusting longingly over the perfect blog layout.
I think I’m there peeps!
(with one minor already schedule tweak)
And if not, Heather is only a few clicks away with her WordPress Wizard powers and stunningly good looking layouts.

FFF_ANNOUNCEMENT_TLOANSOW

Happy Friday!!!

Wow, these weeks just keep getting shorter and shorter. I am almost recovered from our week in Idaho and I am almost unpacked as well. Go ahead, judge away. Just know that I am too tired to care.

I’ve been feeling the need to purge and simplify lately, but I want it to be more than just the average spring cleaning. So, like I said, I ordered Tsh’s book and the hubs and I are now sitting down and adopting our new found philosophy together. Because it makes no sense at all for me to hop on an ‘organize and simplify’ path without my eternal traveling companion. I’ve already rearranged the living room – yes, before I unpacked – and can feel the energy returning to our small but functional space.
Do I sound a little hippy dippy? It’s okay, I totally am a little hippy dippy, so whatevs.

Along with that simplify feeling I really want to truly design my spaces. I’ve done what I can, but I feel like I’ve simply settled in the name of function or price too many times to be truly happy with a lot of what I have. Do you know what I mean? This space here, for example. I love a lot of things about this blog and it’s layout and the way it functions, but I also want it to really feel well designed, and it falls a little flat in that regard. At least, I think so.

So these are the shop’s I’m currently drooling over and maybe someday, after we’ve de-cluttered and reorganized our lives, maybe then I’ll take the plunge and get a really nice designed layout.

I COULD SLEEP HERE / A CLASSIC MONOCHROME RETREAT

Lonny Mag | Photos by Patrick Cline | Interior Design by Kay O'Toole

I just keep going back to the Jan/Feb 2013 edition of Lonny Mag. It’s just jam packed with beautiful shots and amazing inspiration.

Like this beauty of a boudoir. Such classic pieces mixed with dainty, feminine touches. Kay O’Toole nailed it with her eclectic mix of old and new in this monochrome color scheme. Again, with the four poster… I’m telling you, I feel a four poster in my future. With mosquito netting and twinkle lights. Doesn’t that just sound divine?!

What do you think…
Could you sleep here?

Are we connected?

IN ANOTHER LIFE

ball gown, room | westover manor

I host fancy black-tie parties,
wear cocktail dresses
and have a chauffeur.
peaceful, jazzy | westover manorI enjoy long walks through central park,
own a brownstone clad in vintage pieces,
vacation to Paris every year.
striking, oriental | westover manorThe orient fascinates me,
their love of the color red,
their masculine architecture,
their perfect symmetry.

In another life.
