Family fun time: Peacemaking

PEAMAKING

One thing that I absolutely love about the gospel, is the encouragement from our church leaders to have a family night once a week. One dedicated evening that is all about teaching, learning and growing together in the Lord and in our family love. I’ll admit we have been seriously slacking in this department the past 6 years few years … but that doesn’t mean we give up. In fact, it’s the very best reason to start NOW.

Last night we had our first family night in over a year! It was admittedly a little painful – with short attention spans, a few tears and a dance party somewhere in the middle. But we did it!!

I pulled the lesson straight from The Friend and we talked all about Peacemaking and being Christ-like examples of peacekeepers in the home. We traced our feet on construction paper, cut them out, decorated the backs of them with stickers and then wrote one thing we are each going to focus on this week to be Christ-like peacekeepers in the home.

I think I’m going to really like learning even greater patience and Christ-like love during these family nights. <3
