The tv was on playing some kind of Sprouted something or other and he was bouncing around from tv to play thing. I was sitting in my favorite seat on the sofa – the far right side that sits just a tad lower than the rest. Avery was in my arms and I was attempting to feed her the rest of her bottle while she cooed and smiled up at me.
I felt a hand on my knee and heard his familiar voice call out to me
Mama, bajha tahysi sodoo
Is what I heard.
My name, followed by a smattering of gibber jabber.
I looked him in his Stoney blue eyes, my eyes, staring back at me from his face.
What was that? I replied.
Mama, I love you.
Then he turned and took my heart with him.
