Alright – I’ll finally admit it.
I am naturally prone to sinus infections.
Turns out, it runs in the family.
So, all of those times that I ‘take a break’ from my workout or checkout of life because I feel crummy and I’m just waiting for the inflammation to go away on it’s own – turns out, it just won’t. Not without a whole lot of love an attention from me, and a few trusty tools. I’ll tell you all about them, after the jump…
First off, this post is in no way, shape, or form sponsored. These are my tried and true best practices and products.
Here they are.
My top 4 tools for treating seasonal sinus inflammation and sinus infections:
1. Ginger tea with Apple Cider Vinegar
It sounds disgusting, because it kind of is. I like the Yogi Ginger tea from Trader Joe’s, but any kind will do. Seep it for 3-5 minutes in hot water, then add 2-3 tablespoons of organic Apple Cider Vinegar. Again, I prefer the Trader Joe’s brand.
This thing is a freaking life saver. I was having the worst upper sinus pressure all day yesterday, until I used this bad boy + #3 down below. The pressure was gone within minutes and as my husband said my ‘tired eyes’ were gone as well, and I had more energy. Ahhhh (sigh of relief)
*Xlear product are all xylitol based, and give a fantastic natural coating to the inside of your sinuses.*
After opening up my sinuses with #2, I like to follow it up with a good coating of this nose spray for good measure. The more protection for my sensitive membranes the better.
4. Diffused oils: Peppermint & Lavender
Add a drop or two of each oil to a diffuser and run over night next to your bed. The peppermint will help open up your sinuses and the lavender will help you sleep. I prefer the DoTerra brand, and *If you need an essential oils dealer just ask your go-to social media crew. I guarantee you have a dozen or so in your circle, because these products are so darned amazing!*
