Until just a few years ago the term ‘Pioneer Day’ was pretty foreign to me. I honestly had no idea this holiday existed, let alone that it was such a HUGE deal in Utah and surrounding areas. So I was excited to hear that we Californians have a pretty amazing Pioneer history and story as well. This weekend, 27-28th, you can find me and my crazy crew up on Temple Hill enjoying the activities and the new musical, Ship Brooklyn – named after one of the longest pilgrimages in recorded history. These saints were early settlers of Yerba Buena, later renamed San Francisco.
